What’s In Your Grocery Cart?

Hey everyone,

I have so much to share and don’t know where to begin.  The days keep flying by and I am struggling to keep up but I will persevere.

Hubby is on the bandwagon now so no more gluten free chocolate cake, darn it!  Just kidding. We have had our share, for now!

So, what do we eat you ask?  Here are some pictures of one of our healthy diet grocery hauls:

Actually, there are a few things I missed that did not get into the picture.  Protein powder, protein bars, grapes, peanuts, cashews, hmm, not sure what else.  Basically, all of hubby’s stuff!  Hey, he can eat a few more things than I and still get lean.  It’s not fair but that’s just the way it is. Oh  and add coconut oil and olive oil to that list too.

You would be surprised what you can come up with given such simple ingredients.  My creativity kicks into overdrive when we are “behaving” ourselves.

I was thinking about it today while I was cooking.  Dinner can be somewhat lackluster when you have chocolate cake to look forward to for dessert.  But when the meal is the star, it forces you to step up your game a little bit and make it more appetizing.

I’m still rusty but in time I will get there.  This is what we had for breakfast: it’s ground turkey (with onions, carrots, cabbage, spices to taste), plantains, over easy eggs and fruit (halos and grapes). Water with a splash of orange juice, and unsweetened lemon tea.

Forgive the pictures, hopefully i will get much better at this.  Oh, and that darn egg was supposed to be on top.  I will get better, I promise!  And I didn’t have the egg. Hubby had two. He’s bigger than I am you know.

The whole eggs are a once or twice a week treat.  We eat egg whites during the week.  I mix things up and skip eggs all together when I am able. I prefer to just keep eating whatever I am having for lunch and dinner, for breakfast as well.

Well that’s it for now.  Hope you find it helpful.  Let me know what was in your grocery cart this week!

Take care,

MMM
